One Email. $45,000 Back. (And What That Actually Took.)

A printed email rests face-up on a warm wood desk with a soft-focus laptop in the background. Amber and cream tones. Text overlay reads: "One Email. $45,000 Back." with the subline "Inside PBK."

A few weeks ago, a member brought a business fire into the room. Money on the line, a vendor relationship that had gone sideways, and no clear path forward. We talked through it — not in the abstract, not with generic advice, but specifically: here's how I would approach this, here's what I would say, here's how I would frame it given what you have on record.

She came back this week with the update. One email. Calm, documented, citing the other party's own recordings. $45,000 recovered.

That's not luck. That's what happens when you ask the right question at the right time, in a room where someone has already seen enough fires to know exactly which direction to run. The infrastructure was in place. The conversation had already happened. When the moment came, she knew what to do.

Your Tech Is Your Team. Manage It Like One.

On the same Gold call, two platform issues surfaced in real time. A Kajabi community notification that wasn't deep-linking to the right post — clients were clicking through and landing on the homepage instead of the content they were supposed to see. And a login screen returning a blank white page after a platform update. Neither was user error. Both had a diagnosis and a path forward before the call ended.

Here's how I think about this: your tech stack is your team. Kajabi, your email platform, your scheduler, your community app — these are employees you've hired to do specific jobs. When something breaks, you don't just accept it. You figure out what's going on. You test it, you eliminate variables, you find the workaround, and you document what you learned so the next person in the room doesn't have to start from scratch.

That's what we did. That's what we do every time.

The Tools I'm Building to Run My Own Business

On the Foundations call, I did a live demo of two tools I've built using AI — tools I'm actively using inside my own legal practice to deliver what I sell.

The legal bundle generator walks through a series of questions about your business and produces a personalized report with 12 legal documents built around how your specific business actually operates. Not templates pulled from a search. Real documents for your real situation.

The legal leak detector does something different. It finds the fires already smoldering in your business before you know there's a problem. Most people find out about their legal exposure when something goes wrong. This finds it first.

I built both of these in Claude. I use them in my own work. And showing them live on the call opened up a conversation I didn't expect — a member in the room said he wants to build something similar for his own business. So that's where we're headed next: not just how to protect your business legally, but how to use AI to build the tools that let you deliver your own work at a higher level.

Preview of coming attractions.
