You Own a Venn Diagram
I was driving back from dropping Kip at school this morning, running through my mental checklist — Tad and I leave for Disney World in 48 hours, and I've been trying to get everything to a rest stop, not a finish line. You know that distinction. You're never done. You're just at a good place to pause.
And somewhere between Kip's drop-off and my driveway, it clicked.
I have Tamsification — a private podcast I first put a name to in 2021, twenty episodes on building your ideal team. And it's been sitting quietly in my ecosystem, not loud, not front and center. Yesterday I was pulling those episodes together with fresh eyes, thinking about how to bring them into the bigger picture. And I realized: I'm not pivoting. I never pivoted.
The picture just got clearer.
Here's what I mean. For fifteen years I've been talking about the same things — legal infrastructure, sales infrastructure, team infrastructure. There were years I stood in front of a camera and said, "I have this mess of spaghetti. I can't figure out how to articulate all that I do." And I meant it. But what I was doing wasn't wrong. It was just earlier.
I'm obsessed with infrastructure because infrastructure is structured flexibility. If I have structure — real, dependable, built-in structure — I have all the flexibility I need. And flexibility is freedom. That craving in my soul for independence, for deciding what I do and when and with whom? Infrastructure is the thing that gives it to me. Not in spite of structure. Because of it.
And what I could finally see yesterday — what I can now articulate in a way that reaches past the first thousand people closest to me — is that I don't live in one circle. I live in a Venn diagram.

Legal exists in the overlap with business. That's where you need sales infrastructure — hello, North Pole to New York City. Legal overlaps with humans and getting things into the world. That's where you need your team — hello, Tamsification. And the blog I renamed a portfolio two months ago? That's not a pivot either. That's me finally recognizing that the function of a blog was always to display a body of work. It just took me fifteen years to say it plainly.
I own the center of that Venn diagram. I am the common denominator in all of it.
Maybe you do too. Maybe you've got circles that felt disconnected, and you've been trying to figure out how to bring them together, and some well-meaning person has called what you're doing a pivot. It's not a pivot. It's the picture getting clearer.
You can't unsee this once you see it.
Sit with it. You own a Venn diagram.
