About Tamsen

You found this page because someone told you building an online business would change your life.

They were not wrong. They just left out a few chapters.

I am Tamsen Horton — attorney, Kajabi Hero, and online business owner since 2011. I have built a business on my own knowledge and skills while raising two kids, and lived long enough to own vintage handbags. I have been doing this long enough to know what holds and what does not.

The people who inspired you to start? They did their job. My job is what comes next — the legal foundation, the tech infrastructure, the strategy that makes the whole thing hold together long enough to actually fund your life.

If you are turning what you know into income for the first time, or rebuilding something that never quite got off the ground, or simply trying to figure out why your business feels shakier than it should — you are in the right place.

Building a business around who you are and what you know is possible. I have done it. But possible is not the same as simple, and you deserve someone who will tell you both things at once.

Every business decision is impacted by legal. I want those impacts to work in your favor.

Start with the YouTube channel. I will show you how it actually works.

Frequently Asked Questions: Building a Legal-First Online Business

Who is this page for?

This page is for people who are done with the hype and ready to build something that holds.

You may be exploring Kajabi, turning years of professional expertise into income, or trying to figure out why what you have built so far feels unstable despite all the programs you have invested in. You are proactive. You value protection as much as profit. You probably already sense that skipping legal steps costs more to fix later — you just have not had someone walk you through what those steps actually are.

If you are building something of your own and you want it to last, you are in the right place.

Why does leading with legal matter so much?

Legal is not red tape. It is the structure that keeps everything you are building from collapsing.

The difference between owning your content and having it taken down, between getting paid on time and chasing invoices, between sleeping well and running through worst-case scenarios at 2am — that is a legal foundation. Most people build first and patch legal later. That approach costs more in time, money, and stress than doing it right from the start.

Every business decision is impacted by legal. The goal is to make those impacts work in your favor.

What makes your approach different from other Kajabi experts or attorneys?

Most business education starts with tactics. I start with foundation.

The typical approach teaches funnels first, legal later — if at all. My method runs in the opposite direction: Lead with Legal, Implement with Tech, Achieve the Business Goals. Legal sets the structure. Kajabi and automation make it operational. Results follow from a foundation that was built to hold.

I am also not a consultant who studied Kajabi from the outside. I am an attorney who has run her own business on Kajabi since 2011 — through platform changes, industry shifts, and every growing pain in between. That is a different kind of knowing.

How do you decide what tools and programs you recommend?

I only recommend what I use, have used, or have stress-tested in my own business.

After more than a decade online, I have bought the programs that overpromised and underdelivered. Each one taught me exactly what I will never do to the people who trust me. Before I recommend any tool — Kajabi, an AI application, a legal resource, anything — I have to be able to stand behind it from lived experience, not affiliate convenience. If I have not run it through the reality of my own business, I do not put my name on it.

How did you end up combining law, tech, and business?

Out of necessity, then intention.

When my oldest son Kip was born in 2011, I was planning to use my law degree and Masters in Taxation at the IRS. Then I held him and knew I wanted to be home. I had no idea how to make that happen, so I built it: websites, email lists, digital offers, late-night YouTube searches, and more than a few expensive mistakes.

Over time I realized that my legal training was the thing that kept my business structurally sound while everything else was being figured out. The combination of law, tech, and business strategy was not a niche I chose for marketing reasons. It is what running an online business as an attorney actually looks like from the inside.

How do law and AI fit together in what you teach?

AI is moving faster than most legal frameworks can keep up with, and every new tool brings new implications.

From intellectual property and privacy policies to content ownership and automated workflows, I translate the legal side of AI into plain language so you can use it confidently and safely. If you are building automations inside Kajabi, creating AI-assisted content, or integrating new tools into your income stream, I help you understand where the opportunity is and where the legal boundaries begin — before you find out the hard way.

What results can someone expect from working with you or joining your community?

Clarity, calm, and completion.

You will know what to do, why it matters, and how to do it inside the tools you already use. You will have contracts, systems, and strategies that work together — bolted tight, not duct-taped together. And you will have the confidence that comes from knowing what you have built is protected and designed for the long run, not just the next launch.

What is PBK, Boltaìa, and NP2NYC — and how do they connect?

They are three parts of the same flight plan, each designed for a different altitude.

Boltaìa bolts together your legal, tech, and automation systems into a single, stable infrastructure. NP2NYC gives you the direct-path sales and business strategy to reach your specific destination. PBK is the community where the work continues — support, connection, and forward motion between programs.

Each one exists to keep you flying steady. None of them exist to sell you something you do not need.

What is it actually like to work with you?

Like talking to a lawyer who speaks human and has done the thing she is teaching.

I will tell you the truth, translate the jargon, and help you make decisions that fit your actual life — not someone else's highlight reel. I know what it looks like to run a business around hockey schedules, client calls, and content deadlines. I built my business to create stability and freedom, not to fill every available minute. That is what I am helping you build too.
