Let's be honest โ we chose the sport where we skate on frozen water. Hockey asks more of families than almost anything else: time, money, energy, effort. The gear breaks on no schedule. The tournaments eat the calendar. And somewhere in the stands, while your kid is doing what they love, part of your brain is calculating what this weekend cost and what's in the account.
There's a better way to approach all of it โ and it starts upstream. (Tamsen is not a fisherman, for what it's worth.
